The Sopranos Star Robert Lupone Is Dead at 76
Broadway performer and "The Sopranos" star Robert LuPone passed away at age 76.
After a three-year struggle with pancreatic cancer, the Manhattan Class Company (MCC) Theater,
which LuPone co-founded, announced his passing. On "The Sopranos," LuPone played Dr. Bruce Cusamano,
Tony Soprano's family doctor and next-door neighbor, and received a Tony Award nomination for
his performance in "A Chorus Line" during its initial run. The performer is the brother of Patti LuPone,
a legendary actress. His wife Virginia, son Orlando, sister Patti, and brother William all survive him.
LuPone, who holds a degree from The Julliard School, was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1946.
